The USS KASKASKIA (AO27) Reunion Association Inc. hosts yearly reunions. Jim and Maxine Wescoat were the founders and hosts for the first KAS reunion held in St. Louis, MO, in 1990.

Highlights of the reunion included a visit to the Gettysburg Nationl Military Park Museum where we viewed the film, "A New Birth of Freedom", narrated by award winning actor Morgan Freeman and the Cyclorama painting depicting Pickett's Charge. That was followed by a tour of the Gettysburgh National Military Park battlefield.

On Friday we went to Hershey PA where we enjoyed a tour of "Hershey's Chocolate World" and a guided Trolly tour of the town of Hershey. Between the Hershey chocolate samples on the Trolly tour, the chocolate purchsed in the gift shop, and the samples we enjoyed while wating for our van we felt fully qualified to become professional chocolate tasters.

After our visit to Hershey we went to Lancaster PA's famous "Maple Shade Smorgasbord" where we enjoyed 200 feet of deliciously authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.

On Saturday we enjoyed a wonderful final evening dinner at a local resturant, "Roosevelt Tavern". Thanks to the wives for localating this local gem.

A BIG THANKS to Ed and Diane Scheid for organizing and hosting this reunion and well wishes to Diane for her speedie recovery. We missed you.

2023 Reunion

Don Seymour will be hosting the 2023 reunion in Buffalo NY sometime next September. We will post details of the reunion here as soon as they become available. He is trying to guage the interest in the Buffalo reunion so he can better organize the event. Hosting these is a real challenge when you don't know how many will attend. Please help Don by letting him know if you are interested in attending the reunion in Buffalo.
